Smile Friday - The “May I Interest You in a Cuppa Tea?” Edition
(pronounced with a British accent, obvs)
Smile Friday: The “Me and My Biznatches” Edition
Of course, I couldn’t leave you without posting a Smile Friday. It’s especially appropriate because one of the “real life” things I’ve been busybusy with is a baby shower for one of these hoochies. I’ll see all their faces on Saturday night and can’t wait!
Smile Friday - The “Yep, I’m still in my bathrobe at 8:30 on a Friday” edition
Jason and I feel pretty blessed that throughout our lives we had families that provided for and supported us and that now as adults, we are fortunate enough to have the means to afford most of the “things” we want. But stuff is just stuff, right? It breaks or goes out of fashion. So for Jason’s birthday, I wanted to give him an experience. Part of that is yet to come, but today, we both took the day off work and will be doing lots of fun stuff. On the docket for sure is visiting the boat show at the convention center, a late lunch at Raleigh Times, and perhaps a museum visit and other shenanigans downtown. Wherever our hearts take us today is where you can find me.
Have a lovely Friday, trillas!

Smile Friday: The “work had me traveling to infinite and beyond today, but thank God for my husband who picked up the ingredients for an awesome dirty martini so I can drink while I cook” edition
(and for the record, I love to cook. I find it very relaxing. Especially with a dirty martini in hand)

Smile Friday: The “IT’S SNOWING!” edition
And, I’m about to drive 3 hours west, into more snow. Wish me luck, trillas!
Smile Friday - The “If dogs could smile, these two would” edition
This is our dog Cole with his BFF Ollie. When we lived in Wrightsville Beach, Ollie lived next door. Every morning, Ollie would come over and see if Cole could come out and play (seriously, he came over and scratched at our door until Cole was released) and every night they’d spend hours and hours sharing the same stick, each one taking an end to chew.
They were an odd pair. I don’t think Ollie realized that he weighed about as much as Cole’s head, but they were friends to the end. Cole was conscious of Ollie’s size and didn’t play as hard with him as he did the big dogs. And Ollie was pretty much oblivious to the fact that Cole was a different size and breed. He just wanted a friend.
I think their friendships rings universal for all dogs. Dogs don’t judge each other based on how they look, what they wear, who they pray to, what kind of job they have, or who/how they love and they are perfectly happy little bundles of love. I wonder what the world would be like if people practiced the same philosophy.
