Lately, I’ve really been digging all things leather and lace. I love the idea of pairing sexy sweet black lace pieces with tough, studded and chained, leather boots.
1. Victorian Lace Dress, $330. This piece is the only LBD you need for eternity. When I die, I think I might like to be buried in it. I love it that much. It’s also got an unexpected cutout in the lower back. Meow!
2. Rachel Rachel Roy Flannel and Felted Lace Dress, $139. This is a bit more of a forgiving cut than number 1. And I love that it’s one dress, but actually looks like two separate pieces.
3. Reformed Lace Black Blazer, $88. This jacket is a much more subdued way to get your black lace fix. And it’s just as important to make a good exit as it is an entrance!
4. Free People Lace T-shirt Dress, $108. I’ve tried this on and this dress is actually much more forgiving than the body con silhouette wants you to believe. It’s definitely on my Christmas wishlist!
5. Sequin Lace Skirt, $27.80. I’ve never met a sequin I didn’t like, and the sparkle is even better when it’s on a textured lace pattern. Add some colored opaque tights for a festive look.
6. Vintage Lace Embellished Cuff, $38. If you’re more comfortable with black lace in the bedroom than during the daytime, try it in a very small way with this statement making cuff.
7. Lace Inset Leggings, $81. Wear these just as you would your regular leggings. The lace on the sides adds some unexpected interest.
And now, the boots! Tough boots with this look is critical to keep you from looking 1)too tranny, 2)too precious, and 3) on trend and current.
8. Jeffrey Campbell studded booties, $188.
9. Steven by Steve Madden Studded Leather Boots, $159.99 (down from $229)
