Things that are good because I was born
I would just like to take a moment to reflect on the positive things I have added to the world since the day of my birth, 27 years ago today:
1. Jason has a wife and doesn’t have to subsist on spaghetti o’s and pillsbury dough products inside a cardboard roll.
2. My brothers and sister all have the coolest big sister (being the oldest of 4 is not always easy, my friends)

I AM getting older
In case there was any doubt, right before our 3-d IMAX experience of Monsters vs. Aliens started, I developed a painful crick in my neck. It’s so bad that I can’t even turn my head to the right even the slightest bit without pain shooting through my neck. 27 has got to be better than this!

I’m leaving work early today to get my birthday celebration underway. My real birthday is Sunday, but every adult knows it takes more than one day to celebrate getting older. NCAA ponderings
You know what? I don’t like UNC. And honestly, it’s not because I went to NCSU. It’s not that I don’t like them just because I’m supposed to dislike them.
Let’s just say that my feelings toward UNC stem from an incident involving trophies, being chased through the UNC campus, 100 hours of community service, and an apology letter to the UNC baseball team.

Within the next three years, there is an almost 100% chance that Husband and I will be expanding our family. Raising children scares the bejesus out of me, but I still look forward to that day. I have no idea what kind of mother I will be, but I do know that there are several traits I will work hard at to instill in future Cook-lings:

So, after I left the DMV, I saw one of my favorite fast food places, Cookout, across the street. I ordered one my favorite sandwiches that they have - a club style (bacon, cheese, tomato, and lettuce) chargrilled chicken breast - and onion rings.
The lady gives me my order, smiles very big, looks at me, and says “Here ya go. Hot and Fresh, just for you.”

My experience at the NC DMV was much more pleasant than I thought. I was in an out in 15 minutes. However, I did not get to renew my registration because apparently there is a tax stop on my car. Who knew? Obviously, not me.
Anyways, the nice DMV lady gave me a phone number where I could call and pay the taxes over the phone. So, I call the number and apparently my tax stop is in a different...

Jason and I are invited to a 6:30 wedding this summer. Now, I know 6 o’clock is fancy, fancy, but does 6:30 fall into this category as well? The invitation did not have us select our entree, which made me wonder if it’s maybe more of a cocktail party reception…. but then again the reception is at a posh country club.

Jason and I play Yahtze. Every couple should have something they like to do together, just the two of you, and for us, right now, we love to play Yahtze.

Weekend in Review
This weekend was full of:
- Sleeping in with Husband
- Basketball watching and laughs with Girlfriends
- Cooking Sunday dinner for 6
- Finally finishing Breaking Dawn
I must say that I was a little disappointed with Breaking Dawn. I found Bella to be so whiny throughout the whole book, I just wanted to smack her and tell her to shush her mouth and get on with it.
