I’m covered in glitter and rhinestones. We just finished carving pumpkins. I didn’t go the spooky route. Sleepy time is now, but pictures is tomorrow.

This quote hangs right next to my bathroom mirror as a vigilant reminder to always, always, always be accepting, tolerant and loving of others.

Halloween is tomorrow!
My work is having a pumpkin carving/dress up contest. I’m going to be Cinderella and carve a pumpkin that looks like a carriage. My mom is making my Cinderella costume tonight - she really knows what she’s doing - and I’m carving my pumpkin with my little bro Joe. I’ll take pictures. Promise.

As I sit here at work, Barack Obama is less than 10 miles from me, speaking to a group of people. What I wouldn’t give to be there! Dang these new jobs with vacation time yet to be earned!

November Goals
In November, I plan on the following:
1. Learn how to sew (must first acquire a sewing machine).
2. Try at least 5 new recipes (I think I’m getting in a dinner rut).
3. Start and finish a photo album of our trip to Paris and Barcelona.
4. Start working on Christmas cards so they are ready to send out shortly after Thanksgiving, so that people can actually receive them BEFORE Christmas.

I’m exercising.
Mind you, I have not attempted to really and truly exercise in at least 4 months. However, the pilot light has gone out for the THIRD time this week on our furnace. Jason won’t be home for another hour and a half and with 53 degree temperatures outside and not much warmer temperatures inside, I have no other way to stay warm.
Drastic times call for drastic measures.

What's in a name?
Admit it. You’ve googled yourself. Today, I found out a lot about myself when I googled…um..myself. I found out:
I’m a realtor in British Columbia
I’m a psychic with the gifted name of Ravenstar.
I’m an evangelical preacher that can change your life.
I’m a former field hockey goalkeeper in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
I’m an artist with an interesting...

Wet leggings
One thing that I’ve pondered as of late is how does one go about wearing wet leggings. Now, I can see how supermodels with really skinny, long legs can wear them, but I’m talking about us regular folks who eat pizza and drink beer/wine on a regular basis and actually have a crease in our tooshies - How do WE wear wet leggings?
Imagine my delight when I got an email from Forever21...
My lovely friend Katie regularly volunteers her time at a place called Interact. It provides safety, support, and awareness to victims and survivors of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault. Right now, you can help out this wonderful cause by clicking here:

I’ve been a fan of Lorick since Gossip Girl featured her designs as Eleanor Waldorf’s and Blair and Serena frolicked around Manhattan in matching backless dresses.
withoutmelissa:
it would be Abigail Lorick -
how unbelievable is her collection?
tutus, high waisted bikinis, and cupcake dresses: check, check and check.
thank yoooooou
Melissa,
Thanks for the thanks. I should thank you, too. You’re the only person I follow on tumblr I’ve tried to convert others I know or pseudo-know, but they haven’t gotten on the bandwagon.
Each of your posts brings a smile to my face in its own special way. So, thanks for that! With mutual friends, I’ll look forward to one day when I actually meet you in person.

I call this video “Jason, the annoyed tourist.”
We had been in the palace of Versailles and then ventured to the gardens. I wandered off to take a video of the amazing gardenscapes, inadvertently walking away from the only person I knew in the whole entire place. They had all the fountains on and were playing classical music throughout. It was enough to make a gal feel like Marie...
This video is one that I shot when Jason and I were in Paris.
After a day trip to Versailles, we spent our evening at an authentic French cabaret show. It was in a place called Un Lapin Agile (which I think translates to the Agile Rabbit, but I’m not sure).
When Picasso lived in Paris, this was one of his regular haunts.
We were served a brandy drink with marinated cherries in it and got...
Curses
I’m cursing myself for not getting our gas turned on the day we moved in. Everything in our cute little house is electric, except for the heat. Tonight it’s supposed to get down to 38! We’ll be pulling out all the blankets and letting Cole sleep in the bed as long as he wants. Think warm thoughts for us.

Balanced Diet
My mom sent me the following funny story about my 6 year old brother Joe:
Joe and I had eaten dinner and finished homework, when Joe said, “Mom, I’m hungry and since I ate all my dinner I think I should have something else to eat.”
“Okay,” I said, “what would you like?”
“Um,” he said, “I think something from the top of the Food Pyramid.”
“Oh,” I said, surprised, “what’s at the top of the Food...
