Saturday was a full gastro-experience out and about. Our first stop was a fundraiser for a local animal shelter where $25 got you tasty beer from a local brewery and sampling of some delish barbecue. However, unbeknownst to us, this event was held outside where it was cold to the max. Don’t let that sun in the pictures above fool you! I was freezing. In fact, I had planned my outfit sans coat, but obviously that thing wasn’t coming off once I realized we would be chilling (pun intended) outside.
So, after we guzzled our beer, chomped down some ‘cue and oohed over cute puppies, we were off to meet some friends for pizza and more brewskis (bottomless pit, right here) inside a warm restaurant. We stayed until my fingers had thawed out which was probably much longer than our waitress appreciated. Oh well. Then, we had one more stop for the best dessert ever – profiteroles with homemade hazelnut toffee ice cream topped with fudge sauce. To say I dream about that dessert would not be a lie.
Thanks to my Spanx tights and loose jersey dress for being key players in Saturday’s food fest!
